About Terenure College RFC
Founded in 1940, Terenure College RFC plays in the top division of the All Ireland League. Terenure field six adult teams, along with a vibrant Mini and Youth section with over 400 boys and girls playing rugby every Sunday.
Terenure College RFC has had many players play for Ireland at all levels, and at senior level players include Mick Hipwell, Brendan Sherry, Paul Haycock, Ciaran Clarke, Niall Hogan, David Corkery, Girvan Dempsey, Eric Miller, Derek Hegarty, Isaac Boss, and John Cooney. Current Ireland Sevens Captain is ‘Nure man Billy Dardis. Terenure College has provided two Presidents of the IRFU – M. H. Carroll (1984–85) and E. Coleman (2000–01) and one president of the Leinster Branch  – Des Lamont (2009–2010).
Terenure has also supplied personnel to the Irish team at other levels including Paddy “Rala” O’Reilly as Baggage Master to the Senior Team and British and Irish Lions. At a global level, Terenure man Mark Egan is Head of Competitions and Performance for World Rugby. With our strong heritage and connection with Terenure College, along with our role and pride of place in our local community, Terenure College RFC is the community rugby club.
