Mini & Youth Rugby Season Kicks Off with Enthusiasm at Terenure College RFC
The 24/25 Mini & Youth Rugby season is off to a fantastic start at Terenure College RFC, bringing a vibrant energy back to the club on Sunday mornings.
This year, we are thrilled to welcome over 600 young players and 160 dedicated coaches to our grounds. The sheer number of participants is a testament to the growing passion for rugby in our community and the strength of our club’s youth program.
One of the most exciting developments this season is the remarkable increase in the number of Under 8 girls joining the club. Their enthusiasm and teamwork are creating a fantastic atmosphere on the field, and it’s heartwarming to see so many young players enjoying the sport. This surge in numbers not only highlights the growing interest in rugby among young girls but also reflects the inclusive and welcoming environment that Terenure College RFC is known for.
In the youth division, the U13 boys have already kicked off their grading games with a bang, securing a big win away to Suttonians. This victory sets a positive tone for the season, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to develop and compete in the coming weeks.
Off the field, the new hot dog and juice stand has been a brilliant addition to our Sunday mornings. It’s wonderful to see parents, coaches, and players mingling and enjoying some refreshments after their training sessions. A special shout-out to the incredible young volunteers who have been instrumental in getting this stand up and running and to all our young volunteers who show up for all the Sunday morning jobs, manning the shop and traffic management of the car park. Their efforts have added a new dimension to our club’s community spirit.
Additionally, Eimear and Sineád have done a fantastic job bringing the shop offering outdoors, which has been met with great success.
With the AIL season kicking off, we encourage all our Mini and Youth parents and players to come down and support our senior squad in the weeks and months ahead. Your support on the sidelines makes a huge difference and we can’t wait to see the club filled with our vibrant rugby community.
Here’s to a season full of fun, development and success on and off the field!
Yours in Rugby
