A Message From Our Club President 2020/21
On behalf of the members of Terenure College R.F.C. I wish to extend a warm welcome to all of our guests and visitors during the coming season 2020/2021.
This season our club is celebrating its 80th birthday. There is always a sense of anticipation at the start of every season and in particular for me this year, there is the great honour of representing our club as president. Our season 2019/20 was hit tragically in March of this year by Covid-19. I would like to take this opportunity to express my condolences to any members and friends who may have lost family or loved ones since this pandemic started. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. To ensure safety for players, members, visitors and spectators we have been guided by the requirements of the IRFU, which means rugby clubs cannot reopen unless they meet these standards.
We wish to confirm that Terenure College R.F.C. has complied with all the standards required by the IRFU. We ask that everyone who enters Terenure College R.F.C adheres to these requirements too.
Congratulations to Stevie O’Neill, Captain of our first team. To our head coach Sean Skehan and to all the players, I wish you every success this season. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish junior rugby, under 20’s, youths, minis, girls, tigers, captains, coaches, managers and all the volunteers a successful and enjoyable season. To all of our players at every level and age group a safe and injury free season.
I would like to welcome the new members. I am sure they will have an enjoyable rugby experience with Terenure College RFC.
My sincere thanks to all our sponsors, to our principal club sponsor H&K International (David Bobbett), whose support has been invaluable to Terenure College R.F.C. Also, to Sherry Fitzgerald Group and Dundrum Town Centre.
I would like to express our gratitude to the yearbook advertisers/hoardings for their generous support.
The management committee under its chairman, John Cadell works very hard to ensure that all aspects of the club operate satisfactorily. The members of this committee and the various sub committees devote an enormous amount of their personal time to the work involved and this sometimes can be overlooked by the members at large. So I say to the members of the management committee and the sub committees, thank you very much. Without your input, the club could not succeed.
I would also like to welcome and thank all the match referees and assistant referees for their commitment every weekend.
Finally, it is my wish that all our visitors and spectators to Lakelands Park during the coming season enjoy rugby and friendship which is part and parcel of the game of Rugby Football. We look forward to meeting you after the games in our clubhouse to allow us to show you our hospitality.
President, Terenure College RFC 2020 / 2021
